A good Chicago moving quote tells you more than one number. It should show the crew size, the hourly rate or flat price, the estimated hours, what materials are included, and any extra charges for stairs, long carries, packing or specialty items. RELIX Moving puts all of that in writing before you book.
Fill out the form below or call (773) 747-2063. For most apartments we can quote from a short list of rooms and large items; for houses and long-distance moves we offer a free virtual walkthrough by video.
How to get an accurate moving estimate in Chicago
- Share both addresses, including floor number and whether there is an elevator or a walk-up
- List large items: sofas, sectionals, beds, dressers, pianos, safes, gym equipment
- Say how much will already be packed, and whether you want packing help
- Mention building rules: elevator reservations, move-in hours, certificate of insurance (COI)
- Give your preferred date and a backup date — flexibility usually lowers the price

Red flags when comparing Chicago moving quotes
- A price given over the phone with no questions about your inventory
- A large cash deposit required before any written estimate
- No Illinois Commerce Commission registration for local moves, or no USDOT number for interstate moves
- A company name on the quote that differs from the one on the truck (often a broker)
